The Freedom Behind the Travel

We’re Darcy and Grace - often joined by Lily Mae, our black pug - and this is our travel-first website and YouTube channel.

We share real road trips, destination guides, restaurants, local experiences and the kinds of stops that make a trip better, not busier. We're constantly traveling - and planning our next adventure - so you're going to see a variety of places all over the world that we're getting to experience.

What matters most to us is keeping it honest. If we recommend somewhere, it is because we have actually been there, tried it ourselves and think it is worth your time.

The business and freedom story sits behind all of this, but the heart of Darcy & Grace is travel: firsthand guides, practical advice, food stops, repeat visits and places we would gladly return to.

Before Darcy and Grace started traveling and created a YouTube channel, freelancing was the first real step toward building a more independent way of working.

Darcy started out as a freelance writer after studying journalism. That meant learning how to find clients, manage projects, build working relationships and create a career outside a traditional office path. It brought freedom, but it also came with plenty of uncertainty. There was no instant finish line, no perfect balance and no shortcut to making it sustainable.

What freelancing did offer was something important: a gradual sense of control. Over time, it created more flexibility in how work fit into life, and that flexibility became part of the foundation for everything that came next.

That chapter matters to our story because the travel did not come first. The freedom to take longer trips, return to places we love and build experiences around real life was shaped by years of learning how to work in a different way.

Darcy started out as a freelance writer after studying journalism. Like a lot of freelance work, it began with learning as he went: finding clients, managing projects, building relationships, and figuring out how to create a career outside a traditional office path.

Over time, that work grew into something more structured. What started as one person offering a service gradually became RepuLinks, a digital PR and link-building agency. The shift was not really about chasing a bigger title. It was about building work in a way that could be more sustainable, more dependable, and less tied to one person doing every single task alone.

That gradual move into business ownership created more room to think longer-term about how we wanted life to look. Not less work, and not effortless work, but more control over our time, more flexibility in how we planned it, and more opportunities to build a life together that included travel as a real part of it.

Grace has been an important part of that journey, not as a side note, but as part of the reason the journey matters. The freedom behind our travel did not appear all at once. It came from years of building something steadily, and then using that flexibility more intentionally.

We're still evolving and building what we want. Right now, travel is the heart of what we share: real road trips, honest guides, everyday stops, and places we think are genuinely worth your time.

But the travel did not appear out of nowhere. It grew from years of freelancing, building a business, and gradually creating more control over how we spend our time. That part of the story matters too, and over time we may share more of it here.

So while this is a travel-first brand today, it also reflects something bigger in the background: the ongoing work of building a life with more flexibility, more intention, and more room for the experiences that matter most to us.

We do not see that as a finished success story. It is something we are still building, still learning from, and still living as we go.
